Yesterday I arrived in Maryland for Decorating Den Interiors "Boot Camp". Did I mention that I got a police escort into town ..... yep! As I was making my way into Easton some bright red lights started swirling in my rear view mirror. Apparently, the speed limit was a little less than what I was going. Oh well, welcome to town Susan Sutherlin.
This morning, bright and early (I'm still operating on California time), my alarm clock went off and I headed to our corporate offices. Ooops ..... did I also mention that my Garmen (GPS Unit) took me to a dirt road, YES a dirt road. Needless to say I knew D.D.I. is a LOT more sophisticated than a having a gravel road and quickly realized I was lost! With some quick action, because I was now running late for the first day of class, I resorted to the GPS on my phone which promptly got me to the right location. I'm thrilled to report that D.D.I. corporate offices are in a beautiful building, and on a PAVED road.
Today we spent time learning about necessary client paperwork, textile reviews, web sites, and working with suppliers. Prior to arriving in Maryland, we were warned that we would be going back to our offices with many, many, manuals. Today started the parade of books with three large binders to add to our collection. By receiving these manuals I feel as if 400ish of my favorite designers are giving me their best suggestions, what a treasure!
I'm so excited to be in a class with four other women who share the same passion that I have for decorating. This is going to be a great two weeks.
Tomorrow I will post a few pictures, but for now it's time to get some sleep.
Just a beautiful image to share .... enjoy. |
