Many people shy away from black when decorating but I think it happens to ground rooms bringing in warmth in sometimes rather cold rooms.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this outdoor area (above). There are so many fabrics and furniture today that make outdoor living an extension of our homes.
Here (above) is a fantastic example of using black in a small space . . . it works! The stainless steel island, appliances and hardware are a bonus, bouncing light throughout the rooms.
