Company's Coming

We may be in the heat of summer but it's time to give some serious thought to your holiday entertaining space.  Do you have enough room for your family and friends at your dining room table?  Is it time to freshen up your look by adding some bench seats, painting, reupholstering your chairs, changing out the drapery?

Below are a few pictures that have inspired me . . .

While we were at the recent World Market and Furniture Show it was hard not to notice the trend still continues for the design of farm styled dining room tables (above).  The bleached wood, or the very textured look of reclaimed wood, were in nearly every showroom.

Your chairs and table do not to match, have some fun and mix up the wood and finishes.  If you have a dining room that is on the smaller side a round table it is always a good idea, just make sure the pedestal is on the inside so as to allow for easy seating of your guests.

Make your dining room chairs your own design by making the addition of nail heads and some delicate pulls.

There is so much about this dining room that I love!  From the comfortable chairs, the dark wood tones mixed with the pearly white built in, the welcoming fireplace and the wonderful lighting fixtures.

Step out of the box and add some large scaled fabric to your hostess chairs to go with the addition of a couple of bench styled seats.  Love the punch of the tangerine colored pillow that brings out the complimentary color in the parsons chairs.
